Today’s churches provide ritual or entertainment to attract a crowd, but Jesus says we must give an account for every idle word we speak.
Today’s churches present themselves as the people of God even though they meet in thousands of different denominations, but Jesus says a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand and that He alone knows those who are truly His.
Today’s churches have made themselves God’s mediator by saying we cannot be close to God without joining them, but Jesus has no need of a mediator between Himself and His people.
There are many other ways that today’s churches contradict the teaching of Jesus. They do this because they fail to recognize that the church of the New Testament lived in preparation for the coming of the kingdom of God, that the kingdom came on the timetable Jesus set, and that from that time on we should all be seeking the kingdom of God…which is now in our midst.
Today’s churches are not malicious; they are deceived. In fact, the churches have many members who truly love God. Institutionalism and leadership, not the people in the pew, keep the truth at bay. I grieve for all of today’s churches, especially the evangelicals and charismatics in whose ranks I once stood as a pastor. They know and proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ, but are ensnared by the tentacles of organized religion. Organized religion is a monster that consumes people and their resources – people for whom Jesus died and rose again.
What then shall we do? Believe in and obey the Jesus whom the churches preach! Among those churches there are many who know full well that Jesus alone has the power to transform our lives. We simply need to give Him His rightful place.
Where is Jesus’ rightful place? Everywhere – including where you are right now and where I am right now. We must stop walking around on this earth as if He is absent. He is present with every person and He is present in every group. Our responsibility – and our privilege – is to worship Him continually in our hearts. He is not interested in our lip service at certain times and in certain places (for that is the sin of the churches). He wants the entirety of our lives. This is true Christianity.

Wondered if you have ever read any of Emanuel Swedenborg’s writings?
He was utterly rejected by the church in his time and to some extend us ‘Swedenborgians’ still face similar criticism today. Yet, he testified ideas which makes sense and provide a full picture of what true christianity is. Your thoughts resonate very much with what he wrote in mid to late 1700′s
Two of his works “Arcana Coelestia” and “True Christian Religion” are the cornerstone of a number of churches that have sprung up out of followers of his works. “Heaven and Hell” has also been one of his most popular works, being a summary of the experiences described in the Arcana.
If you can cast aside the public criticism, and take some time to read for yourself and pray to the Lord for yourself you may take away something very powerful!

It is true that the Masoretic Text is considered closer to the original Hebrew than the Septuagint. However, this does not mean that the Septuagint is unreliable. Moreover, since the New Testament relies on the Septuagint, who are we to say it should not be relied upon?

Given that biblical writers were always dealing with handwritten texts and that there were no printing presses, copying machines, or other ways of producing “exact” replicas of anything, it would be wrong of us to expect too much exactness when one biblical writer quotes another. Even so, there are times when it is obvious to us that biblical writers are quoting the Septuagint. For example, Acts 15 is quoting Amos 9. When you look up Amos 9 in the Masoretic Text and then in the Septuagint, it’s obvious the writer of Acts is quoting the Septuagint and not the Masoretic Text.
This does not mean that the Masoretic Text is bad and that the Septuagint it good. It simply means that we should be aware of the value of both textual traditions.
You are an absolute 100% idiot. Scribes spent sometimes fifty years copying one text, to “not remove a jot or a tittle” from the texts. Everything was copied EXACTLY according to the Word of Hayah. Yēšûă‘ is an Aramaic version of His Name (He was Hebrew, not Aramaic), it is not “His Name.” His Name is Yahshua, “Joshua” in English. “Jesus” is not the English form, it is the Greek form, and even in Latin, it is pronounced “Hey-soos,” which means “Hail Zeus.” Go ask any “Greek speaking person,” and they will tell you that it means “Hail Zeus.” I have talked to many.
The scholars who translate the Bible into English have to be well-trained in Greek. Are your qualifications in Greek better than theirs?

Everyone knows that the Septuagint was a translation. It was a translation of the Hebrew Old Testament to Greek (though obviously people in those days didn’t call it the “Old Testament”).
Moreover, those who translated it did so in the name of the Lord. They portrayed Baal negatively (see 1 Kings 18:21) just as he is portrayed negatively in the Masoretic Text.

The Hebrew word “Begotten” means: “to birth, or raise up, to bring to maturity.” We also because of Christ are “born-again, begotten, raised up to maturity.” This is how Christ became our Salvation. He showed us how to “Grow up into the Father.” By walking in His steps. Only speaking that which the Father gives us commandment to speak.

The point is, every English version of the Bible is wrong. Even the scholars of every “version” state that they followed the “tradition of removing the name of YHWH (Hayah) to prevent misuse of His Name.” “Jesus” is not the Name of the Christ.

The NAS and the NIV are both grievously guilty of adding to, diminishing from and changing the words of God. This is not just my opinion, but documented facts from their own “bibles” and concordances. I will give just a few of the many examples I have found. In Judges 16:13,14 the NAS & NIV add 33 extra words to the text, which are not found in any Hebrew manuscripts, but according to the NIV footnote are found in some Greek copies. In II Sam. 13:34 the NIV adds another 21 words from the Greek. They are not found in the NAS. And again the NIV adds another 15 words to Psalm 145:13 from the Syriac – which are not in the NAS. In Gen. 4:8 NIV adds from the Greek: “let us go out into the field.”
I have found about 40 examples in the NAS and around 80 in the NIV where they do not follow the Hebrew text but go with the Greek, Syriac, Targum etc. II Chron. 22:2 tells us that Ahaziah was 42 years old when he began to reign. All Hebrew texts, plus the ASV, Geneva, Darby,Young,Spanish, NKJV, and even the RSV & NRSV say 42. Yet the NAS & NIV change this number to 22 on the basis of the Syriac and some LXX copies. This information is in a footnote in the Scofield NIV of 1984. It is recorded in II Kings 8:26 that he was 22 years old. There is a rather easy solution to this apparent contradiction. Jehu was appointed by God to cut off the house of Ahab II Cron.22:7. Ahaziah was son in law to Ahab II Kings 8:27. So if you count how long each king related to Ahab reigned, you come up with exactly the 42nd year as a son of Ahab(related by marriage) when Ahaziah began to reign, though physically he was only 22. Ahab I Kings 16;29 -22 years reigned, Jehoram of Israel 12 years II Kings 3:1 and Jehoram of Judah 8 years II Chron. 21:5. Thus 22 + 12 + 8 =42. The new versions are based on unbelief. They say, “This is a scribal error.” They don’t believe God has preserved his word without error. They do not have an inspired, inerrant Bible in their hands. Ask them and you will see.

So either “scholars” got it wrong, or EVERY ENGLISH SPEAKING BIBLE IS WRONG. Which is it?

Jerome was the first to translate Hebrew texts into Latin, for the Vulgate, and he also utilized “Socrates, Plato, etc.” in his works to “describe certain events, places, or subjects” in his translation. Mike, The majority of “True Jews” hold to the Truth of the scripture, and “the truth aint in no English Bible.” I guarantee that, and would bet my life on it. You stated that “the name Jesus was around before Constantine,” on another thread, and I would like to know where you are pulling this info from. Because according to every Hebrew historical document known to date, “Yahshua Mashiyach” was in the region of Israel, all through Asia Minor until 400 ad. This name “Iesous” never appeared in any document until after 400ad. Matter of fact, it was the Council of Ephesus where this name first appeared. Josephus did not write a Greek history, He wrote in Hebrew, as he was a Jewish Historian, and his original writings the name “Iesous” never appears. It wasnt changed to “Jesus” in his writings until after 1600.

Read the scriptures. “Did Yahshua (Joshua) come unto His own, and His own received Him not (according to John)?” Then He would have never carried the name “Iesous, or Iesus, or Jesus.” Go look up the name “Jesus” in Websters dictionary. It comes from the “Latin (which the New Testament was not written in) as Iesous.” In Greek it is “Iesus.” Here lies the problem Mikey.
We have it on a very reliable source (not only the Aleppo Codex, but also Hayah Himself, Qumran cave 4, among many others) that the New Testament was originally written in Hebrew. Constantine I requested that “Jerome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome)” translate the Holy Writ into Greek.

Go read it all. Constantine requested that Jerome translate the “writ” into Greek (it had to come out of Hebrew to start with), which Constantine later wreaked havoc on christianity, adding “pure paganism into the church (totally his influence).”
Not to mention, what “you all (Gentiles) deem as “christianity” was from Constantine I, who is today considered one of the top ten most vile, and evil men to walk the face of the earth. He divorced his wife, then killed her, then killed his own children. He “re-defined” what is called Christianity today into what it is. You all have fallen so far off track, its not even fathomable. He introduced paganism into christianity. It was him that permitted idolatry into the religion. It was him that started the “trinity” doctrine. It was him that requested the Hebrew texts to be translated to Greek. It was him that gave Christ the name “Iesous,” which isnt even Greek, its from Latin, which even the “translated texts from the Hebrew” werent written in Latin. NO MAN CARRIES TWO DIFFERENT AND SEPARATE NAMES IN ANY ONE LANGUAGE. Joshua does not mean “Iesous,” and “Iesous” does not mean “Joshua.”
1. Christ spoke Hebrew/Aramaic. The apostles also spoke Hebrew/Aramaic. Not Greek. They would not have written in Greek, as the day of Pentecost, it was “Jews from every nation gathered to hear the apostles speak,” not “Gentiles from every nation.”
“And there were dwelling at Jerusalem JEWS (they would have understood Hebrew), devout men, out of every nation under heaven.”
“And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

These were JEWS. Not Gentiles. They might have spoken “other tongues,” but they understood the Hebrew, because Peter quotes to them DIRECTLY from the Hebrew scriptures.
“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.”
Peter would not have spoken/translated to them in 13 different languages. Its a proven fact, that a man can only retain up to 7 languages at any given time. Even then, he is pushing it. It would have taken more than a day to convince all of these men in 13 different languages the “Hebrew scriptures” of Joshua Christ, and it is recorded that this all happened in one day.
Not to mention, nowhere is it written, that these apostles “wrote 13 different languages.” They only “spoke it.” There is no evidence to this date, that verifies that any of them wrote in Greek. It is only “hearsay” from the Catholic church, and scholars who were influenced by the same that it was written in Greek. Jerome would not have carried the Gospel of Matthew in “Hebrew” if it was only in Greek. And the Jews in his day, believed that it was Matthews writings. They would know more than we would, as they were closer to the times of the actual apostles. That my friend is logic (Logos) and common sense.
Read this link about Jerome, and if you dont see all the errors (I found over 25) in this “historical document about Jerome,” Catholicisms greatest “theologian,” which they even state “he was the original writer of the Septuagint (between 300-400ad), and he alone “rejected the Septuagint (his own translation) declaring it inaccurate,” and held to the ORIGINAL HEBREW TEXTS FROM WHICH THEY WERE TRANSLATED, stating that the Hebrew was the “only inspired text.”

Jerome also carried with him a copy of the “Hebrew Gospel of Matthew.” There is no evidence supporting a “Greek version” until the fourth century.
Jerome’s earliest translations of the Hebrew Bible were based upon Origen’s revisions (184-254 ad) of the Septuagint; however around 393 he turned to manuscripts written in the original Hebrew. Augustine (bishop of the Catholic church) argued that, by using Hebrew manuscripts, Jerome was driving a wedge between Christians of the East and West because the Greek-speaking Christians of the East (East of Israel) were using the Septuagint.
When “ancient writers (Jewish/Christian)” speak of the “East and West,” they are speaking of Israel as the “Center.”
“Origen” excelled in multiple branches of theological scholarship, including textual criticism, biblical interpretation, philosophical theology, preaching, and spirituality. Some of his teachings, however, quickly became controversial. Notably, he frequently referred to his hypothesis of the pre-existence of souls. A group who came to be known as Origenists, and who firmly believed in the preexistence of souls and the apokatastasis, were declared anathema in the 6th century. EVERYONE in the Christian world, should deem Origin as an heretic, not for his beliefs alone, but his “beliefs influenced his translation/works.” Being the Origin(al) writer of the Septuagint.
The Septuagint appears nowhere before these dates. Neither does any Greek text. Christ and the apostles could not have quoted the “Septuagint” since it didnt come into being until 200-254ad. For those that cant add, nor do the logic, and common sense, thats 130 years after the apostles of Christ. And no, Babylon ruled Israel until 141bc, when the Parthian Empire took over the region, and ruled until 650ad. The language of the Pathians was Assyrian, yet Parthia was adopting certain Greek cultures, which had been conquered during the “Persian Empire,” which included Rome, Britain, Israel, Babylon, Parthia, Sassanid, etc. Israel had no “specific Greek culture,” but held to Hebraic culture. There were only “certain parts of Israel that spoke the Greek tongue,” it was not “common” as some suspect. Most Hebrews during the times of Christ spoke, and wrote in Hebrew/Aramaic.
