The Kingdom of God Is Not Something You See with Your Physical Eyes
The primary subject about which Jesus taught was the kingdom of God. It is not a kingdom you can see with your physical eyes, but it’s the most important kingdom that has ever existed or ever will exist.
No one physically saw the kingdom of God in Jesus. Instead, they saw a first-century Jew in his early 30′s – probably looking no different, physically speaking, than any of his countrymen. What folks could see that was different, however, was the effect of the kingdom of God in the life of Jesus. Things happened around him that were not happening around anyone else.
The kingdom of God is something you see with the eyes of your heart – that is, your spiritual understanding. You submit your thoughts to God’s oversight, only thinking those kinds of thoughts that you know will please Him. This is the way Jesus lived. And he lived this way, that we might live this way, too.
Bible notes on this post.
The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything or anyone else – but Him.
‘The kingdom of God is something you see with the eyes of your heart – that is, your spiritual understanding.’
Amen, Mike.
Deep in my being I indeed sense a constant reminder of why I’m here. It can be found below the Christian Adam, that is, beyond the old flesh within the newborn spirit. It’s the gift we share that was made for us, since in Christ Jesus we all have “wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Cor 1:30)
Not sure that you are correct concerning “not seeing” the kingdom with your eyes. With an awakened heart, mind and soul (rebirth), you do see with your eyes the kingdom. The world is part of the kingdom over which God reigns. His kingdom. Now I see though darkly, but then I shall see clearly.
Everything we can physically see is governed by that which we cannot physically see.
The kingdom of God rules all.
